A short roadtrip with the fam lead us to beautiful Toronto for a day. The weather had blessed us with warm temperatures from morning until night.
We started our promenade with the reference library, built in 1977 by Moriyama. The sunlight plunges through its huge atrium so that every floor can take advantage of the natural light. The smooth and curvy architecture makes the building very futuristic for something built in the 70's. Fun fact: it made a big appearance in the Weeknd's music video Secrets.
Our second stop was at the gorgeooous Art Gallery of Ontario. The architecture of this building is really breathtaking, from the «floating» spiral stairs to the wooden gallery. This museum showcase collections from canadian and international art, contemporary but also Baroque and Renaissance art.
I absolutely loved downtown Toronto, the vibrant streets full of people, the square, a bit similar to Times Square in New York, and oh-my, so many asian restaurants!
Last stop was at the Royal Ontario Museum. The crystal facade is, obviously, standing out from the other buildings on Queen's street. Inside, it holds a collection for ancient art from around the world and a floor dedicated to dinosaurs.
That concludes our small roatrip in this beautiful city! Until next time Toronto!
