Café Chat L’Heureux is one of the first cat cafe in Montréal. This new concept is already very popular in Asia, especially in Japan, South Korea and China. So, a few weeks ago, my friends and I went for a cup of coffee at Café Chat L’Heureux.
It was a very warm and sunny day (which is pretty rare in April). The streets were so busy. It seems like everyone hibernated during winter time and just woke up that day. When we got to the cafe, there was (unsurprisingly) a lot of customers so we had to wait a little bit. If you want to pet a cat, it’s better to sit near their beds or on the couches. There are also some rules like taking your shoes off before entering for example.
We were lucky to get a table in a corner because this adorable cat named Gustave jumped on top of it and took a nice and lengthy nap. In this cafe, there are seven adopted cats from various shelters sleeping, walking around and observing people.
The menu is entirely vegetarian with some vegan meals. There is also smoothies, desserts, salads, coffee and tea of course. We ordered a latte, filtered coffee and mint tea. Everything is a bit expensive, but, considering that they need to take care of those cats, it is pretty cheap.
